Who Are You?

Me? I, dear reader, am your humble host. According to my driver’s license, my name is John Paul Wohlscheid. I’ve been interested in the history of personal computers ever since I watched Robert X. Cringely’s Triumph of the Nerds. This, however, is not the first time I’ve tried my hand at writing. I’ve self-published several ebooks, mainly noir detective stories. I’ve also written about technology, specifically open-source software, for over 5 years. You can find the bulk of my writing on It’s FOSS. I also have my own tech blog named GitPi.US. On top of that, I’ve created a couple of games.

You can find me on GAB, Minds, MeWe, GitHub, GitLab, and Reddit. Feel free to drop me a line.

How Often Will This Newsletter Be Published?

My goal is to publish this newsletter weekly. I have a habit of working on too many projects at a time, so it might not go out on the same day every week. Keep an eye on your inbox.

How can I support Your Work?

First, the best way to support this newsletter is to share it. If you want to support me financially, you can use one (or more) of the following methods (I tried to cover all of my bases):
